I remember, and I think I have said this before, I remember him taking haircuts and allowances away from foster kids so he could apply that pittance to the purchase of monster vehicles. Our local barbers and beauty shops were expected to cut hair for free. I also remember the layers and layers of people he put between him and all us lowly citizens. Though Ridley, our former Chairman, had his problems he was very approachable and worked well with out local humane society. GRRRRRrrrrrr... Not surprised by any of his actions.
Comment History | remember that senator gooch is the chairman of the georgia senate transportation committee. |
Why did he take the $10k? So he'll represent their interests in some vote, or 'look out' for them on some issue. As for running unopposed, it's the default way to run when nobody else in your district deems their chances to beat an incumbent have merit. Happens all the time.
nobody ran against him so his name will appear on the ballot without opposition but you could do a write in.
Better yet, how can it be that anyone runs Unopposed?
Keep an eye on what legislation he's sponsored or will sponsored. It's interesting to watch these State House members (and it's on both sides, to be honest). In Dalton, our representative was/is a pharmacist; 70% of the funds raised on his non-campaigns are from pharmacists and pharmacy PACs, and virtually all of the legislation introduced by him (save for the commendations and the county-by-county specific pieces of state legislation) have been health-care or pharmacy-related.
