Why are solar panels not allowed on houses in Lumpkin County? Same answer. Because Amicacola EMC will not allow it. AmEMC will not distribute broadband and AmEMC will not allow their owner-customers to deploy solar panels on their houses. It is as simple as that. And AmEMC is not a "big bad profit obsessed corporation. AmEMC is a nonprofit coop owned by its customers. It has a legal monopoly to supply electric power to a certain area.
