They are not meeting the requirements for that stimulus money. There's money available for start up companies bringing broadband to remote areas from the Feds, but you must deliver to low income people. I don't think there is any way that would ever be possible from this "non-profit" entity. That is wrong. And I am thinking the money they got to build the fiber loop probably had the same stipulation or similar, but I don't know. Their website surely would lead you to believe such a thing though.

You know what lobbyists do, right?

I can't believe he actually said he talked to their lobbyists. That was worth missing the World Series!

Well, I don't trust politicians who just talked to the companies' lobbyists and then ask for a phone number to call some one who can do something. That was the purpose of this forum, was it not? To get something done? What was the end answer? Can we have a phone number of someone who can do something? I think he took a payoff. It's all politics. There's no competition. My last question that I forgot was, "why can't they put in repeaters when the copper distance is too long?" Charter did it once for me.

Not from WS. I agree with Steve, they need to bring the decision makers here. And I don't think Bettye Willis is the one to bring in. I've heard enough of her speeches. But I think I heard differently from Bruce and NGN than you may have. Personally, I think NGN and its affiliates are the best chance N. GA has to attract business looking to relocate to N GA with broadband needs.

Frank, Thanks for sending this out. I'm glad I was able to attend.
