well gail the campaign contribution law has been changed so that elected officials can use cc money for any purpose to "fullfill and extend" their office. campaign contributions are now a general expense fund and not just for campaigns. not sure how the law was changed. last year speaker ralston refused to provide an explaination as to how he was spending his money so it is not possible to audit the expense account. everything is self reporting and no expense receipts are needed and their is no audit. so the mice will play. see my other posts for many details about all of this. anyone can view my facbook posts.

Just as an FYI, back when I served in the GA House, it took $16,000 in postage for me to mail one piece of mail per household. Printing the piece cost about $5,000 - $6,000. The money that I received from the state for me to manage my office was, $7,500, It would have been wonderful if I'd had extra campaign money that I could have used for good project such as this. Needless, to say I was never able to mail from my state expense money.

The question then is what did he spend the money on? It could have been expenses that he incurred earlier. $800,000 in a congressional seat is small potatoes.

he had no opponent when he spent the $800,000 and went into debt. who will come and bail him out.
