Even accepting CNN's known bias, this coverage is so racist I admit to being shocked at how blatant. The narrative they are propagandizing and writing for us is to fulfill those stereotypes you describe Natasha. I have not seen such stuff like this in media since the 60s. This is the time for those of us who know better to not permit it to go further. Claudia it is the reason we need the clarity of meanings you have formed your group to develop. The better we understand the words and terms the better we can use the methods available to us to end the injustice.

Let me explain this: There is a privilege of American Life that Black People have never known. That is the privilege of not having their skin viewed as a deadly weapon. The lesson taught to America Monday is that if you are Black, you are a threat, and must be dealt with with maximum force and hostility. If you don't understand why they are protesting around the world about this, it's because you don't understand this: In America, as a Black person (Man, Woman, or Child) ANY crime, or perceived action of non-timidity is justification for your murder.

And it is totally about race. Over the past 4 years, more than 10 mass shootings have been perpetrated by White men, and nearly all have been brought in alive. These men have MURDERED Women and Children. Intentionally, without remorse, and lived to tell the story of it.

On the flip side, Black Men and Women have been Murdered and arrested for: Walking in the middle of the street, walking on the side walk, walking home, knocking on a neighbors door asking for help after a car crash, carrying a BB Gun, lying to get their kid in a better school, riding the train home, washing his car, taking his kid to the park, firing a warning shot at her abusive husband, driving... AND THAT'S JUST A FEW IN THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS.

If you still don't get it, ask yourself this. Say "Self... why am I more infuriated by the destruction of property, than the destruction of human life?"

So sad, Not only can we not trust the media, we have to fear the media for what it is doing to public opinion. I remember when Howard Dean gave his rousing response to losing a race when he was running for president, CNN played it over 600 times in the next 4 days and made fun of it. He never recovered.

I can't let the day go by without saying this. I have off and on had CNN on most of the day. What they are doing with this crime in Ferguson is shamefully criminal in itself. Constantly running the police officer's interview giving his story. Presenting Michael Brown as a violent criminal. Being dead, unable to show himself as a human and defend himself. Presenting protesters as inciting riots. verbally attacking the family and their lawyers. It is as outrageous as anything Fox does.

None of us can know the whole truth. What we do know is the DA and now CNN are making certain we will never know. Missouri government and police force behaving like an occupying military force toward the citizens of Ferguson and I believe all African Americans. That is why there were and will be nation wide peaceful protests. -- barely noted by any of the cable news outlets.
