I believe if the event is advertised as "open to the public" or the "public is invited" then it's a game changer. Many venues are privately owned such as hotels, conference centers, etc. I don't believe this matters.

So if they hold their meetings on private property they don't have to comply with the open meetings act, and our first amendment rights don't apply. That sucks. Maybe we should start attending the meetings with our cell phones turned on.

Open Records Request sent to the Dawson County Sheriff's Office regarding the Arrest of Lydia Tisdale at Burts Punpkin Patch during the Campaign Rally for Deal-Perdue on August 23.

I request all available information regarding the arrest of Nydia Tisdale at Burts Pumpkin Farm on August 23, 2014 under the provisions of the Open Records laws of the State of Georgia.
