Joseph wrote: "As a parent of three and a licensed teacher of 7th through 12th grade Social Studies and English teacher, I too have mixed feelings about the online charter school movement through Georgia Cyber Academy. All three of my kids went through local public schools from Head Start through the 8th, 9th, and 10th grades respectively. My oldest is now a junior in high school, but taking dual enrollment at the Univ. of North GA. Through the Move-on When Ready program, and the younger ones are basically doing the same thing in the Georgia Cyber Academy. It wasn't my choice, it was theirs and I am so far pleased to see that they seem more constructively engaged in their studies than before. They have enough friends to keep their socialization alive despite working from home on academics.
