[Georgia Mountains Unitarian Universalist Church] Stewards of Children, September 28

Our teachers are required to take the class, as specified in our GMUUC Child Safety Policy. Parents and others are strongly encouraged to attend. Childcare will be provided. The sign-up sheet will be on the back table August 31 and will have space for you to volunteer to bring lunch food that day. The website is www.D2L.org. This program is under Darkness to Light, a nonprofit initiative committed to empowering adults to prevent child sexual abuse. The Darkness to Light pamphlet says "Stewards of Children is the only national program statistically shown to increase knowledge, improve attitudes , and positively change child protective behaviors." The cost for each participant is $10, payable that day, and covers the cost of the workbook. Davis and Ian, as well as Lumpkin County teachers, have taken the class and are very impressed. Jessica Kerr from No One Alone will be our facilitator. We hope to have a good crowd. If you cannot attend, please check with Nancy or Ian about monthly sessions offered at the Presbyterian Church.
